Baggrund & forskning

Programmet vurderes i forskningsprojekter i flere lande (se referencelisten).

Background & Research

Thinkinuk is knowledge and inspiration in daily language about how we think and how we can use our thoughts to take care for ourselves and others

- especially when life is hard.

Thinkinuk can be used by anyone - from 5-6 years old and up - lay people and professionals - privately and professionally - within any frame of time and organisation.

The Thinkinuk program is based on recognized neuro-cognitive research - especially mentalising research. Mentalising is the ability to think about your own thoughts and the thoughts of other people (also called meta-cognition). Psychiatric research with intensive mentalisation-based training of patients with borderline personality disorder (who have greatly increased suicide risk) has documented (5-8 year follow up) that suicide risk can be reduced by a factor 10, use of health care services by a factor 30 and medicine consumption by a factor 100. (se Fonagy in the reference list).

Thinkinuk is the first mentalisation-based program in the world which has been developed outside psychiatry for mental health in general.

The Thinkinuk program is freely available on www.thinkinuk.com

The program has been developed by Chief Physician Poul Lundgaard in Denmark under the title - The Robustness Program.

The danish version is forund on www.robusthed.dk.
The program is used in Greenland, Denmark, UK, Italy and Greece.

The program is currently starrting up in Sweden and Holland.

The program is subject to research in several countries.

In 2017 a book written by professionals was published. This book describes practical experiences using the program with children and your people in different settings. In 2018 an extended edition was published worldwide by Routledge (see reference list).

A central element in the Thinkinuk program is small stories about what thoughts are and how we use our thoughts - seriously and for fun. These stories (in a slightly revised edition) plus a number of new stories has been published in a separate book in Danish.
